This 25 year old artist from San Diego has been showing off her handy work since 2005.
In her words:
When I make a cosplay I try to make characters that are never/rarely ever done. I love to bring recognition to those characters! I’m inspired by the design of a character, maybe the character’s attitude or likeliness to me.
I like to make characters that are strong, can kick ass and that I can relate to.
I pride myself on making my own cosplays. I love being able to take a few yards of fabric and turn it into something amazing. Though I’m not the best at prop building, every time I create a cosplay I learn something new and I always strive to get better!
The longest I’ve worked on a cosplay, probably 2-3months so far. However, I foresee a lot of cosplays I want to make in the future that will most likely consume 5-7months of my time! I strive to have awesome and high quality cosplays, so I don’t mind putting the time in to get the results I’m looking for. Plus, it’s always a good idea to give yourself a little more time just in case you need to order things online like wigs, contacts, shoes, fabric, etc. and allow it time to ship without the stress of “Am I going to get x,y, and z before the con in two days?!”
So far, my favorite cosplay has to be my Aion Asmodian cosplay. Simply for the fact that it is so elaborate with the weapons, the wings, the armor and all the details in the outfit alone. This was my very first time ever making wings, it was a lot of trial and error, but definitely worth it! I can proudly say every feather was cut, shaped and hand placed and glued on by me and that every stitch and armor piece was done by me–I’m still so proud of it. The cosplay took me about a month and a half to create (that’s with work and daily life too).
My very first costume was Gunner Yuna from Final Fantasy X-2, at that time I was only 17years old…oh how time flies!
