The other day we were in Orlando and visited a hidden gem. Tucked away in the shadow of Walt Disney World is Player1 Video Game Bar. They claimed to be “the ultimate video game lounge experience!” So we decided to stop in and check the place out to see if they could live up to that title. We were actually quite surprised at what we found.
When you walk in, there’s a counter where you pay your cover (which is only a couple bucks) and that gets you into the bar. If you’re into console games, there’s a pretty impressive selection.
So we thought, oh, a console bar, those are cute. OH NO, we were wrong. When you walk in you’re overwhelmed by a throwback arcade with tons of stand up coin-ops. OMG, is that Spy Hunter? I can’t tell you how many quarters I plugged into that thing when I was a kid, and they have one!
You make your way through the games and there’s the bar. 36 craft beers on tap plus bottles of all the best micro brews around. But we’ll come back to that, did you see those games?
Rows and rows of arcade games just waiting to be played
Not just a Pac-Man, but also a Ms Pac-Man. And what’s the deal with Ms Pac-Man anyway? They never tied the knot or was she really Pac-Man’s sister? Oh, and see that black bar in between them? Cup holders, they put cup holders next to the games, genius!
Not only is there a ton of coin-ops, but we found out coin-op isn’t the best term to use for these, ALL of them are free! No need to get quarters, you just walk up, hit the button and you’re playing. Be still my beating heart!
Stand ups aren’t your thing? Then have a seat at the table tops or the consoles. 8 big screen battle stations to play head to head. Not to mention 4 more stations and consoles at the bar

They have a whole line of old school consoles for us older geeks. Colecovision, NES, Genesis, SNES, Nintendo64, Sega Saturn, Playstation 1, Dreamcast, you name it. And yes, of course they have an Atari 2600

Back at the bar, you can grab a brew (or soda, whatever you’re into) and play some console games with your friends.
