Meme Of The Week 7-29

This week’s meme is God Damnit!

The Back Story: This relatively new meme that is gaining momentum. It started with an image of a man slipping in the shower with the added text of “God Damnit”, a phrase generally uttered while in the process of falling, crashing, etc.

Meme Of The Week 7-22

This week’s meme is Stoner Frog

The Back Story: This meme is emerging and relatively new, so new that Google hasn’t even started to trend it. It started on 4chan when someone posted an image taken from an advertisement of a frog laying on a lillypad looking up into the sky as if he is in deep thought. The second window shows the frog staring at you. This reminded people of that one friend who would get stoned and stare up into the sky and come up with deep thoughts or ramblings, then turn to you and say “you know man?”

The set up: Take the base template and in the first window write something profound or deep or even just useless rambling like someone who was stoned would say

Meme Of The Week 7-15

This week’s meme is Rollercoaster Chess

The Back Story: The meme started with the highly popular stick figure cartoon xkcd. In April of 2007 they posted the following comic:

This planted the seed for many people to try and copy the comic and create their own souvenir photo. This meme has also morphed to include other board games such as checkers and Jenga, and has also moved from just rollercoasters to any on-ride or automatic camera (see traffic cam pic at bottom).

The set up: Glue, tape, velcro or stick chess pieces to a game board and then sneak it onto the ride. Set it up after you leave the boarding station and pose for the on-ride camera. The hilarity of the pictures draws from the absurdity of the situation: A focused thinker holding his or her chin, contemplating their next move amidst the screaming riders.

Meme Of The Week 7-8

This week’s meme is a new one without a name so we are dubbing it, “Crazy Dad”

The Back Story: Just like PTSD Clarinet Boy, the image is based off the tired old photography trick where a photographer with no skill or creativity superimposes another picture into the image. With Crazy Dad we see an image of a smiling family, although they look a bit awkward. This image is superimposed onto an image of what is presumed to be the father of the family looking very serious. The contemplation of the father’s look shows that he is thinking of something he has done. And the expression on his face gives the impression that he may be capable of more than being just a loving father.

The set up: Take the stock image and add text to convey what Crazy Dad has done to his family.

*NOTE*- There is an alternative meme to this which portrays crazy dad as a pedophile, we will not post those on this site. Sorry, but don’t bother submitting them.

Meme Of The Week 7-1

This week’s meme is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Clarinet Boy

The Back Story: The image like many is based off of an old photography trick where a photographer with no skill or creativity superimposes another picture into the image. With PTSD boy, we see a happy, smiling boy in his marching band uniform superimposed onto a picture of a serious boy. As if to suggest he’s thinking of a happier time, trying to get back to the smiling little boy, but the pain is too great, because of what he has done.

The set up: Take the stock image and add text to convey the pain that Clarinet Boy is holding inside.
