The Gates Foundation has been working on the Omni Processor and finally has it up and running in Dakar, Senegal. This pilot project is showing how this machine can take the nastiest, most disgusting sewer sludge and turn it into clean drinking water. As an added bonus, the sludge that’s removed can be converted to energy and to bricks used for local construction.
